Department Representatives

Department Representatives are members of the Association, elected annually from each department (or, in the case of non-departmentalized Faculties, from each Faculty). The role of the Department Representative is to maintain two-way communication between the Faculty Association and their unit. These positions are established under Article 10 of the Association’s by-laws. The by-laws also provide for up to two Sessional Academic Representatives.

Department Representative meetings are scheduled throughout the academic year (see the Meeting Schedule). These meetings are opportunities to hear from the President and/or other Officers on important business and to share and discuss your concerns and issues.

Department Representatives are occasionally approached by members of their department or unit for advice or assistance with workplace issues. Department Representatives are asked to always refer these colleagues to the Faculty Association office for assistance, as the TUCFA professional staff are the best resource for members experiencing such issues.
