The University of Calgary Faculty Association – TUCFA
TUCFA proudly represents more than 2,500 academic staff at the University of Calgary. Academic staff includes Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Sessional Instructors, Professional Librarians, Archivists, Curators in Libraries and Cultural Resources, Counsellors in the Student Wellness Services, Department Heads, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, and others. TUCFA is a union and is the exclusive bargaining agent for all academic staff.
The TUCFA office is located on the 14th floor of the Education Tower. We are open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. for lunch). The office is usually closed on Fridays, but TUCFA employees remain available by phone and email.
If you have any questions or concerns about your working conditions, performance assessments (tenure, promotion, and APR), administrative sanctions, or academic freedom, please contact us for assistance. When a member contacts the Association, they will be directed to a TUCFA employee, who will treat all communications with the utmost confidentiality. TUCFA employees are not University of Calgary employees and do not report to anyone in the University administration.
