Nominations for Board of Directors

On behalf of the Election Committee Chair, Dr. Dora Tam, Ph.D.:

TUCFA is accepting nominations for Board of Directors positions that will be vacant as of June 30, 2026. Following the close of the nomination period, an election will be conducted, with electronic ballots issued no later than March 4, 2026. Further details regarding the nomination and election process are set out in the Association By-laws  (Article 7, Nomination and Election of Members of the Board of Directors).

Positions open for nominations:

  • Eight (8) director positions are open for nomination for various terms beginning July 1, 2026. Candidates receiving the most votes will be elected to the longest terms.
    • Five (5) director positions are available for three-year terms, one (1) director position is available for a two-year term, and two (2) director positions are available for a one-year term
    • Nominees for director positions must be Association members
  • The designated sessional instructor seat is open for nomination.
    • The term is one year
    • Nominees for this seat must be Association members or have held a Sessional Appointment at some point since May 1, 2025
  • Note that an election of President and Chair of the Board of Directors is not required as the current term ends June 30, 2028.

In keeping with TUCFA’s commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, members from equity-deserving groups are encouraged to submit nominations.

Time Commitment

Potential candidates should be aware that Board of Directors meetings are scheduled on Tuesday midday, approximately once per month, from September to June. Additional meetings may be scheduled as required. Board members are also often appointed to a variety of other Association, University, and external committees as TUCFA representatives.

Nominators mustclearly identify the person being nominated. Alternatively, emails from the nominator or their electronic signatures may be attached to the nomination form.
