A minor change in CAUT dues takes effect on July 1, 2022. These fees are calculated based on average academic staff salaries by rank, as reported annually by Statistics Canada, applied against an approved mil rate. The mil rate of 1.5 was approved by CAUT Council in 1994 but has been temporarily reduced to 1.425 due to the impacts of the pandemic. The current fee schedule below is calculated based on a 1.425 mil rate.
The monthly amounts are as follows:
CAUT Membership Fees 2022-23 (2021-22)
– Professor $20.95 ($20.69)
– Associate $16.66 ($16.31)
– Assistant $13.49 ($13.23)
– Part-time/Sessional $3.91 ($4.16)
The amount paid to the CAUT Defence Fund remains the same for 2022/23 at $5.50 per month.
