Minor changes in the CAUT dues take effect on July 1, 2021. These dues fees are calculated based on average academic staff salaries by rank, as reported annually by Statistics Canada, applied against an approved mil rate. The mil rate of 1.5 was approved by Council in 1994 but has been temporarily reduced by Council to 1.425 due to the impacts of the pandemic. The current fee schedule below is calculated on a 1.425 mil rate. The monthly amounts are as follows:
CAUT Membership Fees 2021-22 (2020-21)
- Professor $20.69 ($19.92)
- Associate $16.31 ($15.86)
- Assistant $13.23 ($12.88)
- Part-time/Sessional $3.94 ($3.91)
The amount paid to the CAUT Defence Fund remains the same for 2021-22 at $5.50 per month.
