CAUT Parliament Hill Day

The Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) held its annual Parliament Hill Day, a one-day lobbying event in Ottawa on Thursday, November 23. Professor Dora Tam, Vice President and Treasurer of the Faculty Association, and Don Kozak, Associate Executive Director of the Faculty Association met with Rachael Thomas, MP for Lethbridge.

Parliament Hill Day is an important opportunity for representatives of CAUT member associations to meet with federal Parliamentarians on issues that matter in post-secondary education and research. Delegates will meet one-on-one with Members of Parliament and Senators to discuss the challenges facing university and college staff in their constituency and across the country, and to outline what the federal government can do to ensure high quality and accessible post-secondary education.

Representatives from the Faculty Association of the University of Calgary join University of Lethbridge Faculty Association (ULFA) and Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations (CAFA), to meet with Lethbridge MP on Parliament Hill. (L-R) Don Kozak, Associate Executive Director, Christopher Burton, ULFA President, Rachael Thomas, MP for Lethbridge, Claudia Steinke, CAUT Executive Representative-at-large, Dora Tam, Vice President, Daniel O’Donnell, CAFA President.
